dṛgambhaḥ-stambha-ruddhāpi kurvatī tilakaṃ prasūḥ |
kuryāt kiṃ yadi sāhāyyaṃ nākariṣyata rohiṇī? || [anuṣṭubh]
Though restrained by the dam of tears in her eyes, as the mother applied the tilaka, / what could she have done if Rohiṇī had not offered her help? ||
