[45] athāgrataḥ-sareṇa tena sukumāreṇa kumāreṇa prāṅgaṇataḥ pratiruddha-saṅgamanāsu śuddhānta-saṅgatāṅganāsu praviṣṭās te kaṃsajid-iṣṭā gṛhādi-śobhekṣaṇa-spṛhātaḥ kṣaṇam āviṣṭāḥ, kramaśo bhojanālayāya kalayām-babhūvuḥ |

Then, with that tender youth leading the way, the women residing in the inner quarters having withdrawn from the courtyard to prevent meeting them, those dear friends of Kaṃsa's conqueror entered, fascinated for a moment by the desire to behold the splendour of the house, and gradually made their way to the dining hall.
