prātikūlya-vacanaṃ ca sauhṛdād
ānukūlyam abhigamya śarmadam |
paśya vastra-haraṇādinā hariḥ
pratyuta pramadayām babhūva tāḥ || [rathoddhatā]
A hostile word, through love,
becomes friendly and bestows happiness.
Behold: by stealing their clothes and the like,
Hari on the contrary brought them joy! ||
