latā imāḥ pṛcchata yā na lokitāḥ
purā taru-śliṣṭatayāpi puṣpitāḥ |
sampraty amūḥ sparśa-vaśād bakī-ripoḥ
puṣpānvitās tan-nakha-citram atra hi || [upajāti 12]

“Ask these creepers, which were never seen / to blossom before even when embracing the trees; / now they bear blossoms from the touch of the enemy of Bakī, / for here indeed is the artwork of his fingernails!”
