paśyotsaṅga-kṛtāṅganā-valayinaḥ kāmāturasyāsakṛt
tad-vastrādika-saṃvṛti-prathanayā vyagrasya lakṣmāṇy ataḥ |
nimna-vyasta-padāni mālya-ghusṛṇāstīrṇāni gharmāmbhasā
bhūyaḥ siktatamāni velli-talatā-kṣepānta-vartmāni ca || [śārdūla]

"Look at the signs here of him who made a lap for the maiden with his arms, who was stricken with passion, / and repeatedly anxious with arranging her garments and ornaments: / footprints pressed deep and uneven, strewn with garlands and saffron, / copiously sprinkled with drops of sweat, and the edge of the path where creeper-twigs were pushed aside!"
