[8] mahāghana-ghanāghana-ghana-saṅgamān nidāgha-drāghīyastayātihrasva-doghā hradinya iva | ubhayatra hi gata-prāya-jīvanatābhiprāyam āgatā |

[8] like rivers whose flow had shrunk exceedingly due to the long heat of summer [attaining fullness] from the dense union with massive rain-clouds. For in both cases, the state of life having almost departed had arrived at its limit.
