"The dānava has been quelled, by whom quelling had been quelled—that evil being, always an enemy of the gods. / He, the supreme foe, has reached non-supremacy; you, the ever-risen, are without any rising. // Without delay, O child, with a mere laugh you laughed away / all those beginning with Pūtanā; and in every way, you, the purifier, purified them. // Though beyond all qualities, you have taken on qualities, O son of Nanda! / How wonderful it is that, while standing upon the earth, you bear the earth! // The form of the moon is white, the Gaṅgā is bright, Sarasvatī is fair; / but your fame, O slayer of Baka, being pure white, makes everything appear white! // 'Even Kaṃsa has been turned white by your fame'—this, O Kṛṣṇa, is spoken falsely; / for he has no contact with it at all; it is merely the pallor from his terror of you! //"
