mukhyaḥ prāṇas tad-vibhedāś ca yadvat
kṛṣṇas tadvac chrīla-dāmādayaś ca |
ekātmanaḥ śaśvad uddiśya caikaṃ
kāryaṃ yat te yānti tat-tad-vihāram ||

Just as the vital breath is primary and its divisions [depend upon it],
so was Kṛṣṇa and illustrious Dāman and the others;
always keeping in view a single aim as of one soul,
they engaged in various pastimes. ||
