yadyapi sura-muni-kathitā
svasyāgataye vilambitā jñātā |
tad api ca valayita-tṛṣṇe
nāsyāṃ kṛṣṇena nādṛtiḥ kalitā ||
Though he knew his return would be delayed, / as foretold by the divine sage, / nonetheless, toward her whose thirst encircled him, / Kṛṣṇa did not fail to show respect. //
