[4] atha tayor nija-tad-anargalatā-vyañjanāya svayam anāgamya prathama-prasthāpita- sthavira-gopa-vargayoḥ kṛta-prātaḥ-kṛti-sargayor yadā raṅga-pura-dvāra-pura-pradeśa-praveśaḥ samajani | tadā tu loka-kolāhalata eva sarvas tat kalayāmāsa |

[4] Then, in order to show that nothing held them back, the two did not come themselves at first, but sent ahead the elders among the cowherds; and having completed their morning duties, when their entry into the area of the gate of the arena-city took place, everyone realized it simply from the clamor of the people.
