utsaṅgaṃ vahati śiśuṃ vrajādhirāje
sā dūrād adhiśayitā prasūti-śayyām |
āsīt tac-chravaṇaja-bāṣpa-romaharṣa-
stambhādyair vivaśa-tanūr vrajādhirājñī ||
While the sovereign of Vraja held the child on his lap, / she, lying far off upon the childbed, / the queen of Vraja, her body lost to all control, / was overwhelmed with tears born of hearing this, with horripilation, and with stupor.
