[67] atha krameṇa mātṛ-vañcanī buddhir apy udbuddhā | yatra yatra sa ca sa ca,
"naiva naiva cala cañcala re re,"
vākyam etad avakarṇya jananyāḥ |
māyayā sma parivṛtya hasitvā
tāṃ nivartya laṣite varivarti || [svāgatā]

[67] Then, by degrees, the cleverness to deceive His mother was also awakened. Wherever both He and He went:
"Do not, do not go, you restless one, hey hey!"—
hearing this command of His mother,
He turned around playfully, laughed,
turned her away, and persisted in what He desired.
