1.8.43

[24] sa ca tathāpi-
akṣiṇī drava-gamāya sākṣiṇī
rodanaṃ krud-udaya-praṇodanam |
cālanaṃ vapuṣi dhārṣṭya-pālanaṃ
sṛṣṭavān avinayaṃ na mṛṣṭavān || [svāgatā]

[24] And even then:
He produced tears in his eyes to show flowing grief;
he wept to dispel the rise of her anger;
he shook his body to maintain his audacity;
he did not wipe away his mischievousness. ||
