garbhastyaktaḥ pradīpto 'tha prāhāhaṃ somasambhavaḥ /
evaṃ somādvudhaḥ putraḥ putrastasya purūravāḥ //
urvvaśyāṃ jajñire yasya putrāḥ sapta mahātmanaḥ /
gandharvyāṃ sumahātmānaḥ āyurdhīmānamāvasuḥ //

The fetus, cast out, then blazed up and said: 'I am born of Soma.'
Thus from Soma was born the son Budha; his son was Purūravas,
to whom, the great-souled one, were born of Urvaśī seven sons,
very great-souled [offspring] of the Gandharvī: the wise Āyus, Amāvasu,
