madhoḥ putraśataṃ tvāsīt vṛṣaṇastasya vaṃśakṛt /
vṛṣaṇāt vṛṣṇayaḥ sarvve madhostu mādhavāḥ smṛtāḥ //

Madhu had a hundred sons, and Vṛṣaṇa continued his line; / from Vṛṣaṇa all the Vṛṣṇis came, while those from Madhu are remembered as Mādhavas.
