kṣatrājjātaḥ kṣatriyāyāṃ kṣatriyaḥ syāt na saṃśayaḥ /
vaiśyāyāṃ ca tathaiva syāt śadrāyāmapi caiva hi //
One born from a Kṣatriya to a Kṣatriya woman is a Kṣatriya, there is no doubt; / and it is just the same with a Vaiśya woman, and indeed even with a Śūdra woman.
