yāvanna vindate jāyāṃ tāvadarddho bhavetpumān /
nārddhaṃ prajāyate sarvvaṃ prajāyete iti śrutiḥ //
As long as a man does not obtain a wife, so long is he half; / a half does not propagate, the whole propagates—such is the Vedic revelation.
