veṇādvaiṇyaḥ pṛthu rjātaḥ pṛṣvīhārāstato 'bhavan /
vainateyāstu tārkṣyā vai pālāstu kṣatriyādhamāḥ //

From Veṇa was born Pṛthu the son of Veṇa; from him the Pratihāras arose;
the Vainateyas are indeed Tārkṣyas, while the Pālas are the lowest of Kṣatriyas.
