śriyaḥ kurūṇām adhipasya pālanīṃ prajāsu vṛttiṃ yam ayuṅkta veditum
sa varṇiliṅgī viditaḥ samāyayau yudhiṣṭhiraṃ dvaitavane vanecaraḥ //

The forest-dweller whom [the king] had appointed to learn / the conduct toward his subjects of the lord of the Kurus who protects royal fortune, / having learned [it], returned in the guise of a religious student to Yudhiṣṭhira in the Dvaitavana.
