kṛtapraṇāmasya mahīṃ mahībhuje jitāṃ sapatnena nivedayiṣyataḥ
na vivyathe tasya mano na hi priyaṃ pravaktum icchanti mṛṣā hitaiṣiṇaḥ //
Having bowed, he who was about to report to the king / the earth won by his rival felt no distress in his mind; / for those who wish well do not desire to speak falsehood [merely to be] pleasing.
