sadhvānaṃ nipatitanirjharāsu mandraiḥ saṃmūrchan pratininadair adhityakāsu
udgrīvair ghanaravaśaṅkayā mayūraiḥ sotkaṇṭhaṃ dhvanir upaśuśruve rathānām //
Resounding upon the plateaus with murmuring echoes
mingled with the roar of falling torrents,
the rumble of the chariots was eagerly heard by the peacocks,
necks arched in mistaking it for thunder.
