8.14

prayacchatoccaiḥ kusumāni māninī vipakṣagotraṃ dayitena lambhitā
na kiṃcid ūce caraṇena kevalaṃ lilekha bāṣpākulalocanā bhuvam //

As her beloved reached high to offer flowers, / he called her by a rival's name; / the proud woman said nothing, but with eyes brimming with tears / merely scratched the earth with her toe.
