prāpyate guṇavatāpi guṇānāṃ vyaktam āśrayavaśena viśeṣaḥ
tat tathā hi dayitānanadattaṃ vyānaśe madhu rasātiśayena //

Even a possessor of virtues clearly acquires / a distinction of qualities through the influence of the receptacle; / for just so, offered from the beloved’s mouth, / the wine spread far with an exquisite taste.
