mā gaman madavimūḍhadhiyo naḥ projjhya rantum iti śaṅkitanāthāḥ
yoṣito na madirāṃ bhṛśam īṣuḥ prema paśyati bhayāny apade 'pi //
"Lest, with minds bewildered by drunkenness, they leave us / and go to make love elsewhere," fearing their masters, / the women did not crave much wine; / love perceives dangers even where there is no cause.
