so'dhyaiṣṭa vedāṃs, tri-daśānayaṣṭa, pit npārīt, samamaṃsta bandhūn,
vyajeṣṭa ṣaḍ-vargamaraṃsta nītau, sa-mūla-ghātaṃ nyavadhīdarīṃś ca.

He studied the Vedas, sacrificed to the gods, gratified the ancestors, honoured his kinsmen, / conquered the group of six [internal foes], took delight in statecraft, and eradicated his enemies root and branch.
