sitā'ravinda-pracayeṣu ca līnāḥ saṃsakta-peṇeṣu ca saikateṣu
kundā'vadātāḥ kalahaṃsa-mālāḥ pratīyīre śrotra-sukhair ninādaiḥ.

Hidden in clusters of white water-lilies and upon sands clinging with foam,
the rows of white geese, bright as kunda blossoms,
were recognized only by their cries pleasing to the ear.
