"araṇya-yāne su-kare pitā mā prāyuṅkta, rājye bata duṣ-kare tvām,
mā gāḥ śucaṃ vīra !, bharaṃ vahā 'mum," ābhāṣi rāmeṇa vacaḥ kanīyān.

"Father assigned to me the forest journey, which is easy to perform, but to you, alas, the kingdom, which is difficult! / O hero, do not grieve! Bear this burden!" So Rāma addressed words to his younger brother.
