candrasyeśvarasevayā kṛśatanoḥ kṣaiṇyaṃ na nirmūlitaṃ
mānī mūrdhni jaḍaḥ sthitaḥ kathamiva prāpnoti sampūrṇatām .
vṛddhyarthī yadi kiṃ karoti caraṇopānte na tasyāspadaṃ
hantyeva svasamīhitaṃ guṇamadāduccaiḥ sthitaḥ sevakaḥ ..29..

The emaciation of the slender-bodied moon was not eradicated by serving Īśvara; / proud, resting stupidly on the head, how could he attain fullness? / If desiring growth, why does he not take his place near the feet? / A servant who stands aloft out of pride in merit surely destroys his own desired goal. //29
