4.35

nāgaistārkṣyasamarpitaṃ tadamṛtaṃ yatnaśramairdurlabhaṃ
no pītaṃ na vilokitaṃ na pihitaṃ mohātparaṃ hāritam .
tasmānnāsti jagattraye'pi vimalaḥ prajñākaṇaḥ kasyacit
sarvaḥ prāktanajanmakarma # vaśādarthodyame dhāvati ..35..

That nectar, hard to win through toil and effort, surrendered to the serpents by Garuḍa, / was never drunk, nor even seen, nor kept safe; out of delusion it was merely lost. / Therefore, not the slightest speck of pure wisdom exists in all three worlds; / everyone rushes into the pursuit of wealth compelled by the karma of previous lives.
