rāmeṇa hemahariṇāharaṇotsukena
kūṭākṣakelisaraṇena yudhiṣṭhireṇa .
īrṣyāruṣā divjaruṣā janamejayena
dattaḥ paraṃ manujavartmani maugdhyasetuḥ ..34..

By Rāma, eager to capture the golden deer; / by Yudhiṣṭhira, following the path of gambling with crooked dice; / and by Janamejaya, through jealous wrath and fury at Brahmins— / the ultimate dam of foolishness was erected across humanity's path.
