navakisalayalekhāpaṅktisaṅge latānāṃ
nakhamukhalipilīlālobhinīmākalayya .
madhumadaparirambhe bhejire lohitatvaṃ
sthalakamalavanānāmīrṣyayevānanāni ..6..

Seeing that the creepers, in union with rows of fresh tender shoots, / took pleasure in the playful marks made by fingernail tips, / the faces of the groves of land-lotuses, embraced by the intoxication of spring, / turned red as if from jealousy.
