Being led by Kaṃsa to be dashed to pieces in such a manner that both his shoulders drooped with arms weary from the weight, she who, though capable, though powerful, for the sake of preserving Hari's fame, did not previously destroy, did not take away, his, Kaṃsa's, life, but having reached the range, the sphere, of the stone, flew up into the sky as if eager to practice dwelling on the rocks of the peaks of the Vindhya mountains in the future—may she destroy your sins!

He did not take comfort through conciliation (*sāman*) from the Source of the Vedas, nor through division (*bheda*) from Hari's discus;
he was only soiled by the shower of rut from Indra's Airāvata [offered as a gift (*dāna*)];
nor was he subdued by the staff of punishment (*daṇḍa*) from Death—the enemy for whom these aforementioned means proved useless was slain
by that fifth expedient, the foot of Caṇḍikā: may it bring you joy! || 46
