"O Bhava, Śiva, your old bull, your aged ox, is unfit; let this buffalo become your mount now"—laughing in a sportively charming manner, she by whom the buffalo was swiftly kicked with her foot toward the god, Śiva—may that Ambikā protect you! Of what sort was the buffalo? White, bright, through the broad expanses of the moonlight of her teeth that surpassed the splendor of the crescent moon, and therefore for a moment, for just an instant, became a white ox indeed.

Fierce with jealousy toward him who previously, in burning Kāma, caused humiliation, making her husband fall at her feet with bows performed at the three twilights;
Exacting a retaliation that surpassed what was done, by repeatedly releasing tears on his crest laden with collyrium, by which she wrote her own name upon the moon—may Caṇḍikā protect you! (49)
