May that Pārvatī protect you, who, as if embarrassed, thinking: "The creator of the triple world, skilled in the slaying of Tripura, this three-eyed Śiva, my husband, is watching. Where is a woman, and where is the desire for battle? This is not fitting, not appropriate; what have I begun, what have I undertaken?"—instantly struck down the lord of the Asuras, touched with deceit by the corner of the moving big toe of her left foot!
"O Bhava, your old bull is unfit; let this buffalo become your mount now!"—
Laughing charmingly in sport, she who instantly kicked him with her foot toward the god;
He who, large-bodied, made white by the broad expanses of the moonlight of her teeth that eclipsed the splendor of the crescent moon, became as if a white ox for a moment—may that Ambikā protect you! (48)
