taṃ mūrdhny upāghrāya tadā somo dhātā prajāpatiḥ
budha ity akaron nāma tasya putrasya dhīmataḥ
pratikūlaṃ ca gagane samabhyuttiṣṭhate budhaḥ //
Then Soma, the creator and Prajāpati, smelling him upon the head, / bestowed the name Budha upon that wise son of his; / and Budha rises in the sky moving retrograde.
