maharṣayo vītaśokā vedānuccair adhīyire
yajñeṣu ca haviḥ svādu śivam āpa ca pāvakaḥ //
Free of sorrow, the great seers chanted the Vedas aloud,
and at the sacrifices the fire received the sweet and auspicious oblation.
