evaṃ bahuvidhaṃ vākyaṃ śrutvā rājā mahāmanāḥ
cintayitvā bahuvidhaṃ prajānāṃ hitakamyayā |
kopaṃ nigṛhya dharmātmā vasudhām idam abravīt //
Hearing these manifold words, the high-minded king,
having considered manifold things out of a desire for the welfare of his subjects,
restrained his anger, and righteous in nature, spoke thus to the earth:
