dhyānavyājam upetya cintayasi kām, unmīlya cakṣuḥ kṣaṇam? paśyā 'naṅgaśarāturaṃ janam imaṃ trātā 'pi no rakṣasi! mithyā kāruṇiko 'si; nirghṛṇataras tvattaḥ kuto 'nyaḥ pumān?

‘Under the pretext of meditation, whom are you thinking of? Opening your eyes for a moment, / look upon these people tormented by the arrows of the Bodiless One! Though a protector, you do not protect them! / You are falsely compassionate; what man could be more ruthless than you?’
