1.12

sāhitya-saṅgīta-kalā-vihīnaḥ
sākṣāt paśuḥ puccha-viṣāṇa-hīnaḥ |
tṛṇaṃ na khādann api jīvamānas
tad bhāga-dheyaṃ paramaṃ paśūnām ||

One destitute of literature, music, and the arts
is a beast in visible form, devoid of tail and horns;
that he lives without eating grass
is the supreme good fortune of the beasts.
