dhairyaṃ yasya pitā kṣamā ca jananī śāntiś ciraṃ gehinī
satyaṃ mitram idaṃ dayā ca bhaginī bhrātā manaḥ-saṃyamaḥ |
śayyā bhūmi-talaṃ diśo 'pi vasanaṃ jñānāmṛtaṃ bhojanaṃ
hy ete yasya kuṭumbino vada sakhe kasmād bhayaṃ yoginaḥ ||
Whose father is fortitude, mother patience, and enduring wife peace,
whose true friend is truth, sister compassion, and brother restraint of mind,
whose bed is the surface of the earth, the directions their garment, and the nectar of knowledge their food—
tell me, friend, from what should fear come to a yogin who has such a family?
