saṃyogāḥ saptapañcāśadasaṃyuktāstu ṣaḍrasāḥ
ṣaḍeva triṣu yujyante rasā doṣeṣu yogataḥ
The combinations are fifty-seven, and the uncombined tastes are six;
six tastes indeed are applied appropriately to the three humours.
