jīrṇāyāṃ hemarājau ca raktatā jāyate dhruvam
svarṇasyotpādanārthaṃ ca jāryaḥ śuddho hi gaṃdhakaḥ

<Importance of personal observation>
Even when taught directly by a guru, metallurgical alchemy is not accomplished / so long as the practical procedure is not witnessed two or three times beside the guru.
