15.13

īṣat pītāntaro rūkṣaḥ sa sūto dehalohakṛt /

snātāmādyarajasvalāṃ hayagatāṃ prāptāṃ jighṛkṣuśca tāṃ so'pyāgacchati yojanaṃ hi paritaḥ pratyeti kūpaṃ punaḥ /
tanmārge kṛtagarttake ca bahuśaḥ saṃtiṣṭhate sūtarāṭ so'yaṃ tatra nivāsibhiḥ khalu janairevaṃ samānīyate //

Slightly yellowish inside and rough, that mercury transmutes the body and base metals. Desiring to seize a menstruating woman just bathed after her first menses who arrives riding a horse, that king of rasas comes out for a yojana all around, and then returns to the well. And it stays in large quantities in pits dug along her path; in this way, it is indeed collected by the local inhabitants.
