triphalā ṣoḍaśapalā taccaturguṇamambu ca /
kvāthayet pādaśeṣaṃ tu tasminpatrāṇi ḍhālayet //

Triphalā should be sixteen palas, and water four times that amount; / one should boil it down to a quarter remainder, and then quench the plates in it.
