jīvanmuktisvarūpaṃ tu devadeva śrutaṃ mayā
tatpratyupāyaṃ me brūhi yadyasti karuṇā mayi //
The holy Devī said: / The essential nature of liberation while living has been heard by me, O god of gods; / tell me the means to it, if you have compassion for me.
