sahasravedhī dviguṇe triguṇe 'yutavedhakaḥ
caturguṇe lakṣavedhī sa bhavedbhūcaro rasaḥ //
With twofold [digested mica] it transmutes a thousandfold, with threefold it transmutes ten-thousandfold, / and with fourfold it becomes transmuting a hundred thousandfold; that mercury is [termed] earth-faring.
