kanda-mūla-phalādyaṃ ca tad-vad vidyāt tad-āsutam |
śāṇḍākī cāsutaṃ cānyat kālāmlaṃ rocanaṃ laghu || 78 ||

And likewise one should understand [vinegar] fermented from bulbs, roots, fruits, and the like; / and śāṇḍākī and other fermented [preparations] soured by time are appetizing and light.
