utkṣipya sūcyā tat tiryag dahec chittvā yato gadaḥ |
tato 'nya-pārśve 'nye tv āhur dahed vānāmikāṅguleḥ || 50 ||
lifting it with a needle, one should cauterize it transversely after cutting it on the side where the disease is; / others, however, say on the other side; or one should cauterize [the tendon] of the ring finger.
