bhūmidehaprabhedena deśamāhuriha dvidhā |

jāṅgalaṃ vātabhūyiṣṭhamānūpaṃ tu kapholbaṇam |

garbhasya tanna kiñcittu karotīti na cintyate ||

tataḥ pakveṣu doṣeṣu laṅghanādyaiḥ praśasyate ||

mūlaiḥsiddhaṃ bṛhatyādyaiḥ sthirābhyāṃ vā sitāyutam ||

Habitat (deśa) is stated here to be twofold, distinguished as land and body. / The arid land (jāṅgala) is rich in vāta, whereas the marshy land (ānūpa) has an excess of kapha. / It does not affect the embryo in any way, so one should not worry about it. / Then, when the doṣas are matured, fasting and the like are recommended, / cooked with roots of the bṛhatī group or with the two sthirās, along with sugar.
