Copper is bitter and sweet, astringent, scraping, light, / pungent in post-digestive effect and taste, cold, irritating, and conquers kapha and pitta.
Upon entering, the departure of the previously described auspicious signs from the patient's house [is inauspicious];
moreover, for the physician who has entered, lack of hospitality, failure to gain anything, dissatisfaction, and [insincere] praise are inauspicious.
Burning sensation, swelling, abdominal distension, and finally the accumulation of fluid.
Then, when the wind has been subdued and the doṣas loosened, one should purge [the patient] with castor oil, or with tilvaka ghee, or with miśraka-oil accompanied by alkali;
and for one whose regulated dietary regimen has been performed and whose feces are bound, one should administer an unctuous enema with oil prepared with substances that pacify vāta, stimulate digestion, and are sour;
then again, while taking light meals, one should administer ghee alone in small measures according to the strength of the digestive fire;
and Fire Ghee with citron juice for one suffering from vomiting, constipation, colic, dyspnea, and cough;
and for massage, one should prepare an oil with the herbs of Fire Ghee;
when vāta and kapha are combined, however, one should drink a powder of these herbs with hot water.
Also, emesis, smoking, nasal drops, collyria, and dietary regimens that destroy kapha;
in excessive moistening of the eyelid, a stick-collyrium made with green vitriol, salt, jasmine buds, and rasāñjana [is applied].
